Upcoming events - Feb 28, 2020

All events take place at the Milton Community Hall.

Mondays and Fridays at 9:00-10:00 a.m.–Fitness for the 50+ Folks. Drop in for exercise classes to improve balance and flexibility with instructor Michelle Gallant. Cost $3. Classes are cancelled if local schools are cancelled or delayed for weather.  (Council event)

Coffee -Get to know your neighbors each Monday and Friday from 10 -11a.m. at the Milton Community Hall. Coffee, tea, and snacks are available by donation of coin or treats! (Hall event)

Chair yoga -We are working on finding a new instructor and new time for yoga – possible times are Tuesdays at 11 or Tues, Wed or Thurs at 3. Chairs are used for balance and some poses. If this might be of interest to you, please respond with a preferred day/time asap. (Council event)

Mondays at 1:30 Line dancing continues with Margot Postma   $4 drop in (Need to have “some” line dancing experience). A new 10 week session is scheduled to begin March 16 -$30 for the entire session, or $4 drop in. (Council event)

*On Mondays from 1-3 p.m. (upstairs) Sewing and Craft Work Bee Sessions. Sewing machines are available but please bring whatever you are working on, or work on the community quilt project. Monday, March 2, Della Wood will be on hand to answer rug hooking questions. (Council event)

** Singing – Drop in to the Milton Community Hall to sing on Tuesday afternoons at 1:15 p.m. Everyone welcome! (Hall event)

Parents and Tots – The North Milton WI is hosting parents and tots mornings at 10:30 a.m. Fridays for the next few weeks for parents to meet up with other parents and young children, visit and grab a coffee/tea/ juice.  (WI event)

Monday, March 2 -7:30 p.m. (storm date – Tues. March 3)– Budget meeting for the Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park. Everyone is welcome to come review the tentative budget and give input. It is expected that a draft budget will be online at miltonvalepark.com by the end of the day on Friday. If you can't make the meeting, please feel free to contact the Council Office with questions or suggestions. (Council)

Council for the Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park meetings are the 3rd Wednesday each month at 7:30. Planning Board usually meets the 2nd Wed. at 6:30 p.m,. Everyone is welcome to attend. The next Council meetings are scheduled for March 18 and April 15, 2020.

Lunch and Learn on Taxes, with Donald MacDonald, C.P.A., C.G.A. who will give hints and suggestions on completing your taxes, and may be able to assist with filing in the afternoon. Thursday, 10 a.m. on March 19. Storm date March 26. Admission by donation. (Hall event)

Thursday, April 16 – Young at Heart Musical Theatre – Fascinating Maritime Ladies – 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. This musical performance features Kelley Mooney, Allison Kelly, and Catherine O’Brien. (Hall event)

Tuesday, April 21 -St. John’s Anglican Church Auction at the Milton Community Hall. (Church event)

Saturday, May 9 – Lobster Takeout. Details TBA. (Hall event).

The Municipal Fiscal Year ends on March 31 -- so if you haven't applied for any of the rebates for 2019-2020 year that you are eligible for - please check online for the forms and information - child bursary, HE washers, low flow
