Coffee Club – Mondays and Fridays at 10 a.m. Drop in to the Milton Community Hall for coffee, tea, snacks and conversation. Admission by donation of coin or treats! Everyone welcome!

Exercise Class is back!!  – Join KK Pinkowski for Active Aging fitness classes at the hall on Mondays and Fridays at 9 a.m. Cost $6.

Yoga with Leone – Tuesdays and Fridays (upstairs) - 9 a.m. Building Blocks of Yoga (mat) & 10:30 a.m. Chair Yoga. $6 Miltonvale Park residents and $7 for others at the hall on Tuesdays, with classes by donation on Fridays, with support from the Central Region Sport and Recreation Council. Classes follow school cancellations/delays for weather.

NEW -Food Presentation with Home Economist Margaret Prouse Thursday, April 18 at 1 p.m. – “Miltonvale Park in the Movies” is a new project with activities related to a particular movie each month! In April the movie is Driving Miss Daisy – and the food we will be exploring is Southern Cooking. Free for Miltonvale Park seniors and by donation for others. St. John's Anglican Church, Milton will be holding a Silent Auction and Cake Auction at the Milton Community Hall on Saturday, April 20th. at 7:00 p.m. They are also selling tickets on a Gift Basket which will be drawn that night. NEW - Milton Community Hall will present, on the big screen, the video of the Milton Community Players "Some Neighbours: Yesterday Once More" on Wednesday April 24th. Workshop – Anti-Racism: The Basics – Date Thurs. April 25, 2024 at 6 p.m. FREE. Light supper provided at 5:30 p.m. for those who pre-register.  What do you know about ANTI-RACISM? In this 3-hour session, participants will be engaged in discussions on white privilege, understanding racial trauma and how it is perpetuated, conversations on intersectionality and how various marginalized identities (e.g., gender, ability, class, sexual orientation, etc.) create unique experiences of oppression, and an exploration of ways to reduce unconscious bias and white privilege. The workshop will be highly interactive. Facilitators Aaron and Amirah from BIPOC USHR will lead this enlightening workshop. PEI Festival of Small Halls presents Reels n’ Ragtime on Tuesday June 18, 2024at 7:30 · $30 plus fees at the Milton Community Hall. There’s power in twos. The Vaudevillain and Cassie & Maggie are two duos who have perfected their act with extensive touring to festivals across North America and Europe. The Vaudevillian are a Ragtime Blues pair who play a mean washboard, resonator guitar, banjo and musical spoons, bringing us back to the prohibition days. Travel to the Dirty 30’s with this eccentric act unlike anything you’ve seen! Then, get your hands and feet ready for the Celtic stylings of sisters Cassie & Maggie. Milton Community Hall annual Lobster Take Out – Saturday, May 11. Tickets are not available yet, but will be $30.

Card Parties will start on Thursday evenings in June and run for the summer.

NEW  -CMP and Miltonvale Park are hosting another car show! Reserve Saturday June 15 (with a rain date of Sunday June 16) for an afternoon car show.

NEW -The North Milton WI are organizing a display of vintage wedding dresses, spanning more than a century at the Milton Community Hall on Friday June 21 from 3-7 p.m. and Saturday, June 22 from 10-2. Admission will be $10 and a light lunch will be served. Dresses are from the collection of Donna Young, with the addition of some local dresses.

MOVIES – The municipality has a movie subscription that allows us to show movies (about 5500 to choose from!) until March 2025. If you are a movie fan, or might be interested in a screening of a particular movie when the hall is available, please contact the Council Office to learn more!

Community Garden Update - Please contact the Council office if you would like to reserve a plot in the garden this summer. There is no cost to have a plot -and residents have priority… 902-368-3090 or admin@miltonvalepark.com.

NEW Books – We have several copies of Blackouts to Bright Lights, Canadian War Bride Stories–If you would like to borrow one and join in on a discussion – please contact admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090. We also have four copies of Adrienne Clarksons’s Room For All of Us and someone has returned a copy of Five Little Indians. We also have copies of Consecrated Ground – a play in which George Boyd retells the story of the struggle of the residents of Africville to save their homes. If you are interested in being involved in a reading of the play (seven characters!), please contact the council office. There are lots of other books and puzzles to borrow in the lobby at the hall.

Air Fryer – We have an air fryer for Miltonvale Park seniors to borrow to try out. Please contact MiltonCommunityHall@gmail.com to borrow it for approximately a week, or call 902-566-3154.

The Milton Community Hall is seeking someone who may be interested in being on call to raise and lower the flag at the hall on a volunteer basis. It does require using a tall ladder. If you are interested, please email miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com or contact 902-566-3154.
