Weekly events:
Coffee Club – Mondays and Fridays at 10 a.m. No coffee on Election Day -April 28. The hall is being used for an election poll on Monday, April 28 from 8:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Square Dancing – Christine hosts square dance sessions on Tuesdays, on the 2nd floor from 3-4 p.m. Contact cmr.belanger@outlook.com. $5
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meet at the Hall on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. For more information contact Joyce at 902-368-2055.
Mindfulness on the Mat – Yoga on the Mat with Leone –Tuesdays and Fridays 8:45 and Yoga on the Chair 10:15. Tuesday classes are hosted by Miltonvale Park and cost $10 for Miltonvale Park residents, $12 for others (Drop-in) on Tuesdays. Contact LightLivingWithLeone@gmail.com for information on Friday classes, which are $13 drop-in fee or are also priced for a series of classes. Chair Yoga on Tuesdays are held on the main level when possible.
Wednesday AND Friday Seniors Fitness Classes with Michele at 9 a.m. Fee $6. Drop in for some chair and balance fitness… and usually some laughs!
Zumba with Natalia –Zumba fitness classes are weekly on Wednesdays from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. at the hall; $2 for residents, $5 for non-residents. Contact MiltonMVPs@gmail.com to sign up.
Sunday Night Movies – Most Sunday evenings at 6:30. Free for Miltonvale Park residents and by donation for others.
Special Events:
April 27-May 3 is National Volunteer Week – The municipality and hall have some fantastic volunteers, and there are many other residents and neighbours active in other organizations, churches, sporting and environmental groups, and many other activities. Thank you to all who contribute to making PEI a better place!!
Council Office CLOSED on Monday, April 28, as the CAO, Mayor and Finance Chair are attending the FPEIM AGM in Summerside. Coffee and Line Dancing are cancelled, due to the election poll. The CAO is also not in the office on Thursday, May 1.
Knitting with Stella – Wednesdays, until May 14 from 5:30 (NEW START TIME)-7 p.m. Free for Miltonvale Park residents, by donation for others if spaces are available. Yarn and knitting needles provided. MiltonMVPs@gmail.com. There may still be a space or two for Miltonvale Park residents to knit baby hats for the hospital.

Sunday May 4 – Rocketman - 6:30 Free for Miltonvale Park residents. Others by donation. The film follows the fantastical journey of transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar Elton John. This inspirational story - set to Elton John’s most beloved songs and performed by star Taron Egerton - tells the universally relatable story of how a small-town boy became one of the most iconic figures in pop culture. ROCKETMAN also stars Jamie Bell as Elton’s longtime lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as Elton’s first manager, John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton’s mother Sheila Farebrother.
Milton Community Hall Annual Lobster Takeout -Saturday, May 10. $30. Pick-up takes place from 2-3:30 https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LobsterMay10 Dinner includes a one-pound lobster, potato salad, coleslaw, jellied salad, roll and dessert. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Cash or cheque by May 8 or E-transfer by May 7. Tickets are getting limited!!

Wednesday, May 14 at 1 p.m.– Join Miltonvale Park in making fringed blankets for Family Violence Prevention Week. Funded in part by the Premier’s Action Committee for the Prevention of Family Violence. No experience or supplies needed. Please pre-register to admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090.

Thurs., May 29 – Supper Club -Watch for details. Miltonvale Park’s CHAT and GBT -Growing Better Together Project will see approximately 40 Miltonvale Park seniors come together to cook and eat supper and an activity nine times over the next year.
June -ParticipACTION and their Community Better Challenge will once again see Miltonvale Park residents and friends try to win Canada’s Most Active Community (We are really aiming to win PEI!!) We are planning some dance classes, pole walking, the annual Move More than the Mayor contest, and a virtual walk across this great country to Mount Milton in BC! Watch for details. FREE Beginner line dancing will take place on Mondays from 6:30 -8 p.m. June 2,9,16, and 23. FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY- Miltonvale Park is looking for someone connected to the community to host the canteen. Food Safety Certification is required. NEW - Wednesday, June 18, 7-8 p.m. Understanding Your Sleep Struggles: A New Perspective with Carol Richard, Sleep Coach. The Come Try class is FREE for Miltonvale Park residents, $5, for others, if space is available. Summer Jobs – Interested in working at the hall or community park this summer? Apply for positions at the hall, Municipality, or with the Association of Rural Community Halls -with a resume and cover letter – miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com, admin@miltonvalepark.com, or peihalls@gmail.com. Wages $16.50-$17.50/hr. There is currently a 12-week position at Milton Community Hall and a 14-week one with ARCH, through the Post Secondary Student Program. The municipality hopes to hear soon about a possible PSSP grant.
