Exercise class – Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays at 9 a.m. Michele Gallant leads senior chair and balance class on Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning on January 12. -Cost $6. Work out with others to an exercise class on the big screen on Fridays, and for this week. Cost – $1. No need to register – just drop in!

RSVP ASAP! - Open Seat Mindful Meal, January 10 - ChangeX has funded Milton Community Hall for an Open Seat Mindful Meal on Saturday, January 10, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. “Mindful Meals” is a free dinner event where participants are invited to engage in meaningful conversations about being mindful rather than reactive while navigating personal or communal challenges. The focus of these gatherings is not on the specific conditions that give rise to problems, nor on finding solutions for these problems, but on identifying and developing healthy mental responses. REGISTRATION OPEN: Tuesday, January 13 -Miltonvale Park Seniors Supper Club- The Chat & GBT (Growing Better Together) Project is hosting another Supper Club. These are meals for about 40 Miltonvale Park seniors, as well as meal deliveries to shut-ins in Miltonvale Park. The meal will be chili and the speaker/activity is still to be confirmed, but is tentatively titled “Seniors Life Stories.” Register ASAP at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MVPChili. It is hoped that confirmations will be sent by Saturday, Jan. 10.
NEW!! Thursdays, 10 a.m. -12 noon (January 15, 29, Feb. 5, 12 & 19) Seniors Art for the Health of It - A Gentle Creative Wellness Water Colour and Line Course for Seniors, 5-Week Program with artist Gloria Wooldridge. Storm dates - Feb. 26 & March 5.
Program Purpose - This water colour and line course is designed to support emotional well-being, cognitive engagement, and social connection in older adults through accessible, low-pressure art-making. No prior art experience is required. The focus is on enjoyment, self-expression, and presence rather than technical mastery.

Thursday, Jan. 15 is the deadline to buy tickets for the Milton Hall’s next 50-50 draw. $3 or 2/$5. You can buy tickets at the hall or send an e-transfer to miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com. Congratulations to Miriam Hooper, who won $87.50 in the mid-December 50-50 draw. There was no January 1 draw.
NEW - REGISTRATION OPEN - Food Hampers - Community Food Box Giveaway -Saturday, January 17, 2026 - Milton Community Hall - 10 a.m. -12 noon. With funding from the Island Community Food Security Program from the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership and the Government of Canada and Province of PEI, the Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park is providing food boxes for local residents. As there are a limited number of food boxes, we hope that we will reach people for whom this will make a difference. Miltonvale Park residents will have priority. STORM DATE, if required, will be Sunday, January 18, from 10-11 a.m. ONE application per household. If you need to register a second household, please contact admin@miltonvalepark.com. Sunday, January 18 -Sunday Movie 6:30 p.m. - Framing Agnes -In 1958, a young trans woman named Agnes entered a study about sex disorders at UCLA to get the gender-affirming care she needed, by any means necessary. Her story was long considered to be exceptional until never-before-seen case files of other patients were found in 2017. In this introductory Rug Hooking session, experience the magic of rug hooking and why so many get Hooked on Hooking. The project will be a 6"x 6" hand held meditation mat. In the first session (3 hrs) learn the basics, outlining, filling, changing colors and textures as well as how to personalize your piece of Peace. In the second session (2 hrs), we will finish hooking, cover different finishing techniques and perspective future projects. There will also be hooking handouts available for future reference. Miltonvale Community Park – The park is no longer staffed, but will be checked sporadically. If you are there and notice it needs attention, please contact admin@miltonvalepark.com, 902-368-3090 or 902-213-0597. The walking trail and parking lot have recently been paved. Please do not drive vehicles on the paved trail. An accessible drum set was recently installed near the park entrance - check it out on the next fine day! On January 1, someone found an airpod case with one airpod, and left it on a picnic table under the shelter veranda.
Miltonvale Park Child Bursary - Residents, are you signing your children up for activities, classes, and lessons? Residents are entitled to $75/child/year (April 1- March 31) to reimburse costs of extracurricular activities. https://miltonvalepark.com/for-residents/rebates-forms/
Snowshoes - The municipality has 6 pairs of adult snowshoes and poles and NEW! three pairs of youth snowshoes to borrow. Contact admin@miltonvalepark or 902-368-3090 to make arrangements to borrow them.
The local 4-H Clubs still have some reversible cat and dog bandanas at the hall. $5
Reminder - There are books and puzzles to borrow in the lobby at the Milton Community Hall.

If anyone is having trouble finding a card with "100" on it, it's because they are all here!! Dad enjoyed each one and couldn't believe people would take the time to get him a card.
