Phase II and Friends -Sept 16

Fri, September 16, 7:30pm – 9:30pm

$10 at the door

In the first half of the show, the audience will be treated to a wide variety of music from Patsy Cline, Gene MacLellan, Adele, Johnnie Reid, Stompin' Tom, Rita MacNeil and others.
After a short intermission the audience will be invited to take to the dance floor where they will be moving their feet to a mixture of rock and roll and toe tapping country tunes.

Phase 2 and Friends is a group made up of the Original Phase 2 Band joined by two excellent female vocalists in Keila Glydon and Jeanie Campbell.

"When you combine the voices of Keila and Jeanie with long-time lead singer Gerry Hickey, there isn't much music that they can't cover,” says a recent release.

"Keila and Jeanie have brought a whole new dimension to our group,” says Hickey. "They are wonderful performers and great people as well. Both ladies are very strong lead singers and the harmonies they provide are a treat to hear".

Phase 2 band members include Blaine Murphy on lead guitar, Pat King on keyboards and saxophone, John McGarry on bass, newcomer Ed Young on drums and Gerry Hickey on lead vocals.

"Our new drummer, Ed, brings a whole lot of talent and personality to our stage. We were very fortunate to have found him".

All members of the group are looking forward to this new format.

Phase II is first and foremost a dance band. They want the audience "on the floor". As a result, the band plays anything from Buddy Holly and Elvis to Bryan Adams and ACDC. If you are looking for a party band, this is the genuine article. Versatility is the key to a good dance band, and these guys deliver. You can rock & roll to the sounds of the Beatles and the Stones, bounce around for 500 miles by the Proclaimers, sail on the waves of Great Big Sea or boogie to the great rhythms of ABBA. If you like to cuddle once in a while, they play some great classic love songs. Always on the lookout for something new and interesting, Phase II incorporates newer groups and entertainers like Johnny Reid and Joel Plaskett as well. There is no comparison between a live band and "music in a can". Greased Lightning just isn't the same on tape.
