Mon, Sept 8- Larry Krause and Cowboy Supper

Larry Krause, the host of Shaw TV’s “The Timberline Country Music Show” is coming to the Milton Community Hall on his Western Range Tour Monday, September 8th. He will sing Western Roots songs - his own and those by other songwriters who have worked to tell the stories of the people, places and times of the west, for all to know and remember. Also included in the one man show will be some selections of cowboy poetry, as well as some stories that may even have some truth winding through them. As Larry says, "This show will get you feelin’ you are sittin’ round the campfire after a cowboy day”. For more information on Larry visit his website at www.larrykrause.com Before the show on Monday the hall is hosting a Cowboy supper! Supper is at 6:30 for $8, and then the show is at 7:30 for $12 – or enjoy both for $15! If you could let us know if you plan to put on your cowboy boots and come along, we’ll know how many lads and lassies to plan for! We are at (902)566-3154 or miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com.

The Milton Community Hall are proud to host Blake Berglund and Belle Plaine on Monday August 25 at 7:30 p.m. This is the second part of the 3 part show "Best of the West". Blake Berglund and Belle Plaine are exactly what a music lover needs. Blake, raised in the Moose Mountains of Saskatchewan, had assorted musical backgrounds including grunge but has found his place in the country genre.  He has 3 studio albums under his belt with a 4th on the way this August. His music has been described as “unpredictable, intelligent and genuine”, he was also rewarded for his hard work in music by being named 2013 Saskatchewan Roots Artist of the Year. Belle, from Fosston, Saskatchewan, is also a very accomplished young artist. Having perfected her latest album “Notes from a Waitress” she is well on her way to finding success with her upcoming album “Last Mountain Lake”. Belle has the ability to captivate an audience with her interesting mix of genres which is described as “old time and jazzy”. Together Blake and Belle hope to entertain a large PEI crowd at the Milton Community Hall (7 New Glasgow Rd, Rte 224 Corner of Rte 7 & 224) as they kick off their small hall fundraiser tour. Blake and Belle are also playing in the 2014 Celebration zone so if you missed them or would like to see them in a more personal setting here is your chance! Tickets will be made available in advance for only $10 by calling the Milton Community Hall at 566-3154 or by email at miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com. Best of the West: Red Moon Road, Janet McGarry and Serge Bernard

This is the first in the Monday series "Best of the West"! Milton Community Hall are proud to announce that Red Moon Road, Winnipeg folk trio, are coming to us on Monday August 4th at 7:30 p.m. Red Moon Road will also be accompanied by local artists Janet McGarry and Serge Bernard. Tickets will be $10 and available at the door or by contacting the Milton Community Hall at miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com or (902)566-3154.
Born in a storm on a wild Canadian lake, Red Moon Road came into its own on the trails between coast and coast. All credit goes to the chemistry, and to the magic that happens when the Winnipeg band's two Daniels - jazz-trained Daniel Jordan and bilingual prog-rock vet Daniel Peloquin-Hopfner - strum up the strings to support twilight-voiced singer Sheena Rattai. From living rooms to folk fest stages, the three have charmed fans from coast to coast with their lush and lively take on modern roots, peppered always by bright stage banter, exquisite harmonies and masterfully told stories. As you can hear on their brand-new EP "Tales from the Whiteshell" or their acclaimed eponymous debut album, it's all sort of rich and warm and deeply familiar, like a campfire crackling wherever the microphones stand: even if it's your first time in the audience, you come as a friend of this band. For more info on the band visit: http://redmoonroad.com/music.php

Janet McGarry has been a dominant presence in bluegrass music, both at home and abroad for the past 15 years and has released her 11th CD, titled "Beneath a Painted Sky". Serge Bernard is an accomplished instrumentalist, playing mandolin, guitar, fiddle, dobro, bass and his main instrument of choice - banjo. Janet and Serge have a busy summer schedule with their band "Wildwood". For more info: www.janetmcgarry.com
