Upcoming Events -Young at Heart (Blessed Assurance), Exercise, Just for Fun, Photography

Mondays and Fridays at 9:00-10:00 a.m.–Fitness for the 50+ Folks. Drop in for exercise classes to improve balance and flexibility with certified instructor Angelie Carter. Cost is now $2/class thanks to a subsidy by the New Horizons for Seniors Program. *Classes are cancelled if school is cancelled or delayed due to the weather. NO CLASS ON FRIDAY, April 24.
Mondays and Fridays at 10:00 –“Coffee Club” – Drop in to share some coffee, treats and visit with neighbours. Admission by donation of coin or snacks! Everyone welcome.
Tuesday April 21st 7pm - Photography Class, Topic: Understanding DSLR Photography: With an Introduction to Exposure. There will be a focus on photographing people, in common everyday situations and using what you have around you, to get the shot. Admission by donation. Saturday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. -Blessed Assurance and the Just For Fun Band - Join us for an evening with the Young at Heart Musical Theatre for their new show “Blessed Assurance-The Story and Songs of Fanny J. Crosby”. Nancy Beck and Pam Campbell will be performing and there will be a sing-along portion of the show. After an intermission, the Just For Fun Band will perform. Admission is $10.
Sunday, May 3 – Lobster Takeout - 1 lb fresh lobster, salads, roll and dessert. Drop by the hall or check with someone on the hall committee to buy your tickets. $20. MILTON COMMUNITY HALL –UPCOMING ACTIVITIES – "Spring" 2015
Tues March 17 – Seniors Health Fair 1-4 - Seniors in the Miltonvale Park area are invited to attend a Health Fair at the Milton Community Hall on Tuesday, March 17 beginning at 1:00 p.m. Presentations will include “Diabetes –What You need to Know”, “Healthy Cooking For One or Two”, with Margaret Prouse and “Ask-A-Pharmacist” with Rebecca Dunn from Murphy’s Pharmacy. Information will also be available on advanced and diabetic foot care, as well as the PEI Healthy Eating Alliance displays on fat and sugar. The storm date is Wednesday, March 18. POSTPONED - WILL BE RE-CHEDULED.

February 9 – Blanket making for Family Violence Prevention Week Monday, Feb. 9 at 10:30 a.m. (Storm date February 13) -Drop by Milton Community Hall (7 New Glasgow Road, Rte 224, North Milton) to help make cuddly knotted fleece blankets to donate to Anderson House. No experience or equipment needed. Participants may wish to bring their own sewing scissors. Supported by Age Friendly Communities and the Premier's Action Committee on Family Violence Prevention. Tuesday, February 17 (Storm date Wednesday, Feb.18th) Seniors Heath Expo at 1:00 p.m. at the Milton Community Hall. The Community of Miltonvale Park is partnering with the North Milton WI to host an afternoon of information–including a pharmacist from Murphy’s Pharmacy, a presentation on healthy cooking for seniors, exercise demo, foot care, and more. Contact the hall to register for this free event.
The Community of Miltonvale Park is hosting a six hour - 55 Alive Driver Course on Tues and Wed (Feb. 24 and 25) from 1-4 p.m. both afternoons. Storm date Thursday, February 26. The cost is $10. Fitness for the 50+ and Coffee Club

Anyone aged 50+ is welcome to drop in to the Milton Community Hall for exercise classes with fitness professional Angelie Carter on Mondays and Fridays at 9:00 a.m. She focuses on balance and flexibility and we focus on have a fun hour of gentle exercise. Cost is $5/week or $3 per class. Classes are followed by coffee and conversation - and whatever snacks happen to appear at 10 a.m. Donations of coin or treats are appreciated for Coffee Club. All welcome!
If school is cancelled or delayed due to weather, exercise class is cancelled.... and most likely coffee too!
Learn to Quilt

Join Nanne Garnham and Alida Callaghan in an informal LEARN TO QUILT class to be held on Monday mornings beginning at 10:30 on Monday, January 12 at the Milton Community Hall. Classes are expected to take place for about an hour for 4-5 weeks.
There is no charge to attend, but space is limited.
