WEEKLY Events:

Coffee Club – Mondays and Fridays at 10 a.m. Open to all – Admission by donation of treats or coins.

“Flat” exercise class – Mondays & Fridays at 9 a.m. Work out with others to an exercise class on the big screen. Cost – $1. No need to register – just drop in!

Garden Work Times – Join Ryan in the community garden (opposite the Milton Community Hall) on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meet at the Hall on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. For more information, contact Joyce at 902-368-2055.

Mindfulness on the Mat – Yoga on the Mat with Leone
TUESDAYS and FRIDAYS 7:55 a.m. Mat yoga ~ and 9:10 am for Yoga on the Chair.
Tuesday classes are hosted by Miltonvale Park and cost $10 for Miltonvale Park residents,$12 for others (Drop-in) on Tuesdays.

Miltonvale Community Park - The school-age drop-in day program for Miltonvale Park residents is open at the Miltonvale Community Park. Jason, Sadie, and Zach are planning lots of activities and can supervise school-aged children. They plan to be at the park Monday-Friday 9-6 and 12-4 on Saturdays and Sundays. There will be pickleball lessons for children on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 a.m. Please call ahead before sending young children, in case park staff are absent due to illness. The park phone number is 902-368-7587. A Scavenger Hunt is happening at the park on Friday, Aug 1 and Aug 4-8 is Splash Week! For more information, contact miltonvalepark.staff@gmail.com. Friday, August 1 - Meet Your Neighbour Pizza Night at the Park. DEADLINE TO REGISTER - THURSDAY, July 31. Join us for Pizza Night at Miltonvale Community Park on Friday, August 1st, from 5-7 p.m. Admission is a painted rock. Bring a painted rock with a "LOVE/" to receive a slice of pizza, a soft drink, and a bowl to custom-make your own ice cream. You will also have the opportunity to win chicken wings by interacting! Miltonvale Park residents have priority booking until July 25. Everyone else is welcome if space is available. RSVP is required to Peggy at MiltonMVPs@gmail.com by July 31.

Saturday, August 2nd from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm -Tour the Naturalization Gallery with the Cornwall and Area Watershed Group: This tour is a unique chance to experience all of PEI's native trees while travelling comfortably on a gravel path! The Naturalization Gallery is a walking trail within the Terry Fox Sports Complex, in Cornwall. It serves to preserve the history of the Wabanaki-Acadian forest, and is a showcase of the native forest that once covered this Island, but has sadly since been reduced to less than 10% of PEI's land use. Join the CAWG crew for a tree ID lesson and tour of the Gallery! Saturday, August 2nd from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at the Naturalization Gallery (Dream Park parking lot).

Wednesday, August 6 - Senior residents of Miltonvale Park (55+) are invited to a free ham cold plate community supper at the Milton Community Hall on Wednesday, August 6 at 6 p.m. Delivery is available to local shut-ins, and takeout is also possible for local seniors who can't eat in from 5-5:30. Folks are encouraged to join us in person. Spaces are being held for Miltonvale Park residents until Friday, August 1 (DEADLINE!!). There is no more space for non-residents. Pre-registration is necessary at this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MiltonSr1 (preferred) or by phone to 902-566-3154. Registrations will be confirmed by August 3. Funding has been provided through the Province of PEI's Community Senior Meal Grant.

Saturday, August 9, 7:30 - An Evening with Elvis, starring Jonah Anderson, featuring The Fabulous Blue Suedettes (Jennifer Carson and MaryLynn Côté. Sunday, August 10, 2:30 pm - Roving Picture Show - As part of their series of silent films presented with live musical accompaniment by Island Jazz PEI musicians, the Milton Hall will be hosting a screening of the original 1927 Chicago. Monday, August 11 - Miltonvale Park is hosting a seniors bus trip (age 55+) on Monday, August 11 leaving the Milton Community Hall at 9:15 for stops at the Butterfly House and Gardens of Hope, Green Gables Heritage Site, Avonlea Village for lunch (on your own), Keir Memorial Museum, Historic St. Mary's Church and Schurmans' Family Farm. We expect to be back at the hall around 5:15.
Cost is $35 for Miltonvale Park residents age 55+ and $45 for others, and includes admissions, snacks and the cost of the bus. Miltonvale Park residents have priority booking until Aug. 6, but all folks are invited to pre-register at www.surveymonkey.com/r/BusMvP.

Garden Club – meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month, with the next meeting on August 12 at 6 p.m. on the 2nd level of the Hall (Election day on the main floor!) Bring photos for a virtual garden tour of your garden (or send them in advance to GardenatMVP@gmail.com.. The gardeners also have a private Facebook group. If you are interested in taking part in the community garden, please contact Ryan at 902-368-3090 or Gardenatmvp@gmail.com. Folks are welcome to come help harvest and work in the garden on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. The garden club has been funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program. The municipality still has one patio pot of tomatoes planted for Miltonvale Park seniors. If you would like one, please contact the Council office at 902-368-3090 or admin@miltonvalepark.com.

MONDAYS -Preserving the Garden Workshops from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. at Milton Community Hall. Tuesday, August 19, from 5-6:30. The St. John’s Anglican Church hosts its annual Blueberry Social at the Milton Community Hall. Cost for the social, which includes sandwiches and blueberry desserts, is $15 for adults and $6 for those under 12 at the door. Wheelchair accessible.

Wednesday, August 27 -DATE CONFIRMED - 2025 Babysitter Certification Course and “Home Alone + First Aid” workshop. As part of Milton Community Hall's Most Valuable People project, the 2025 Babysitter Certification Course and “Home Alone + First Aid” workshop by Kidproofpei will be hosted on Wednesday, August 27. The Babysitter Course takes place from 8:45 a.m. - 3:15 and the At Home Alone and First Aid Course from 4:15 -8:15 Most of the cost will be covered by a grant from PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being. The Babysitter course costs $10 for Miltonvale Park residents and $35 for others (value is $53). Youth are asked to bring a nut-free lunch, water bottle, pen/pencil and a doll if possible. The Home Alone + First Aid Course is for youth age 10+ and is FREE for Miltonvale Park youth and $25 for others (value is $53). Register with Peggy at MiltonMVPs@gmail.com or 902-566-3154.

Saturday, September 13 from 7-9 p.m. ROOTS AND RHYTHMS Concert by CTW - an evening dedicated to the timeless sounds of traditional country and roots music, on Saturday, September 13th, 7-9 pm at Milton Community Hall. Radon – The municipality has just signed up for a campaign to happen in the fall of 2025, where we will have 100 radon detectors for residents to put in their homes for 100 days and then be sent off for results to be obtained (and emailed directly and confidentially back to residents).
