WEEKLY EVENTS

Coffee Club – Mondays and Fridays at 10 a.m. Drop in to the Milton Community Hall for coffee, tea, snacks and conversation. Admission by donation of coin or treats! Everyone welcome. No coffee Good Friday or Easter Monday. The hall is being used for an advance poll Fri.-Monday. April 18-21.

Square Dancing – Christine hosts square dance sessions on Tuesdays, on the 2nd floor from 3-4 p.m. For more information, contact cmr.belanger@outlook.com

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meet at the Hall on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. For more information contact Joyce at 902-368-2055.

Wednesday AND Friday Seniors Fitness Classes with Michele at 9 a.m. Fee $6. Drop in! If Bluefield family of schools are canceled or delayed due to weather, classes are canceled -or may move online. No class Good Friday.

Mindfulness on the Mat - Yoga on the Mat with Leone –Tuesdays and Fridays 8:45 and Yoga on the Chair 10:15. Tuesday classes are hosted by Miltonvale Park and cost $10 for Miltonvale Park residents, $12 for others (Drop-in) on Tuesdays. Chair Yoga on Tuesdays are held on the main level when possible.

Tonight – April 6 - Sweetland is a 2023 Canadian drama film, co-written and directed by Christian Sparkes. Adapted from the novel of the same name by Michael Crummey, the film stars Mark Lewis Jones as Moses, a retired fisherman who refuses to leave the isolated Newfoundland and Labrador outport town of Sweetland when the provincial government launches a resettlement initiative. Thursday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. - Young at Heart Theatre presents NEXT!
Written by Gabrielle Roddy and Greg Ellard, with original music by Sue Stanger
NEXT is an original one-act musical that follows a year in the life of two older actors, Alex and Don, who meet and become friends over a series of auditions. It is a light-hearted look at the realities of aging that transcends any job or career, and speaks to the feeling of becoming invisible or irrelevant in a world that keeps moving ahead. This play speaks to the question: Is it ever too late to chase a dream?

Milton Community Hall, with financial assistance from the PEI Alliance for Mental Well-Being, is hosting NEXT! on Thursday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. Seats are limited now!

Saturday, April 12, from 1-3 p.m. There is a hands-on fruit tree pruning session planned at Ernie Coles’ home, on the Rustico Road in North Milton. Rain date is Sunday, April 13. Tuesday, April 15 is the deadline for the Milton Community Hall’s next 50-50 draw! Tickets can be bought at the hall or send an e-transfer to miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com. Tickets are $3 or 2/$5. License #16921. Congratulations to Leone who won $61 on the April 1 draw.

Sunday, April 27 at 7 p.m. There will be a Gospel Concert at ST. JOHN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH in Milton. Admission is $10.00 at the door.  Performers will be Keila Glydon &Judy Lowe, Frank Whitty, Blue Streak, and Allison Coles & Ed MacLaren. Refreshments will be for sale during the intermission.

Saturday, May 3 – Watch for details on a fundraising spaghetti supper for the Emergency Animal Response Team.

Small Halls Shows Announced! Milton Melodies - Saturday June 21, 2025 · $35, Milton Community Hall

Songwriting is on display this Saturday night in Milton. This double bill features Indigenous singer-songwriter Joe H Henry, named ‘one of the brightest new lights on the East Coast music scene’. With his signature storytelling and voice as powerful as a freight train, this ECMA and Music Nova Scotia nominated artist makes his Small Halls debut. Sharing the stage is Lucy Farrell and Catherine MacLellan. Daughter of Gene MacLellan (Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame), music lives on in Catherine’s family, earning multiple awards, including a JUNO through her illustrious career. From Kent, UK, Lucy Farrell is an honorary islander. The 2017 BBC 2 Folk Award Winner is a sophisticated songwriter at the forefront of contemporary folk. Together, with Catherine, they bring their touring duo show to Small Halls. Come on out to Milton Melodies! We will have tickets at the hall, but they haven’t been delivered yet.
