Exercise Classes are now finished for the summer.


Coffee – Drop by the hall for coffee/tea/snacks and conversation on Mondays and Fridays at 10 a.m. There will not be coffee on Victoria Day.


Yoga with Leone – Tuesdays ($5 -sponsored by Miltonvale Park) and Thursdays ($10 or 4/$32) 9 a.m. Building Blocks of Yoga and 10:30 Chair Up Yoga

NEW – Pickleball at the Miltonvale Community Park - The tentative schedule for the summer is:
Monday 6-9 pm open play
Tuesday  9 am -12 noon open play
                6-8 pm beginner program (may already have a waiting list)
Wednesday 6-9 pm open play
Thursday 9 am-12 noon open play
                   6-9 pm advanced 4.0
Friday 6-9 pm open play
Saturday 9-12 am open play
                 3-5 pm beginner program (may already have a waiting list)
                 6-9 pm advanced 4.0
Sunday 1-4 pm open play, round robin

Times may be adjusted, if necessary, and some times may not start until later in the summer.
Rates are $30 membership which covers all play times for this year ($5 going to PEI pickleball organization) OR drop in fee of $2.  Membership in Pickleball Canada is required. There are washrooms on site. Players can bring their own water, chair, bug spray, and sanitizer. If you can volunteer for the evening open play times, or have questions, please contact Ernie at colesernie@bellaliant.net.

May 30 is the hall’s next 50-50 biweekly draw. You can buy tickets at the hall -or send an e-transfer to miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com. $3 each or 2/$5. Congratulations to Reta MacDonald who won $105 on the May 15th draw.


The deadline to order a rain barrel for the Cornwall and Area Watershed Group fundraiser is Victoria Day.  Order and pay online at RainBarrel.ca/CAWGPEI before May 23, 2022. Miltonvale Park residents can also order at the Council Office at the Milton Community Hall (or online) AND are eligible for a $25 rebate on a rain barrel from the municipality (One per property/household). https://miltonvalepark.com/rain-barrel-rebate/ Pick up is scheduled for the Terry Fox Sports Complex, in Cornwall PEI on Sunday June 5 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. BUT pick up at the Milton Hall may be possible.


Fun Bingo - Miltonvale Park is holding a Seniors & Family Fun Bingo at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26 at the Milton Community Hall. Admission - Item for a prize -$5 value or $5 cash. Maximum - $10/household. No dabbers required – Reusable cards will be used. Space is limited, so priority will be for residents who book for the next week. Please pre-register at 902-368-3090 or admin@miltonvalepark.com by noon, Thurs. May 26. Masks strongly recommended. This is part of the Year of Canada project. In May we are celebrating Ontario. (Think “Sudbury Saturday Night”!) Funded in part by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.


Caring for Fruit Trees – for the Backyard Grower -6:30 p.m.  Monday, May 30, with the PEI Tree Fruit Growers Association – Part of the Year of Canada New Horizons for Seniors Project. Southern Ontario is known for producing many plums, apples, peaches, pears and cherries! Please RSVP to admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090.


ParticipACTION – Community Better Challenge  will take place all through June -Miltonvale Park will be competing again this year in the Community Better Challenge. Last year we were in the top 3 municipalities in PEI.  We ordered three disk golf baskets for use at the park, and summer student Luke Doiron will be coordinating another virtual walk to Milton in Louisana, and a Mayor’s Challenge. Details will follow as events take place in June. To get ready, we are asking residents to download the ParticipACTION app on your phones, as that should automatically count your activity in the municipal contest.


Wednesday June 1 is the next Year of Canada Food Presentation at 1:00 p.m. Margaret Prouse will be sharing recipes and tastes of food from Alberta, so the focus will be beef.  Space is limited. Card Parties - The hall is planning to hold summer card parties (Auction) on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. beginning June 2 and continuing through the end of September.


NEW - Learn to Line Dance -As part of the Miltonvale Park Year of Canada project – there will be BEGINNER line dancing lessons with Margot Postma on Mondays – June 6,13,20 and 27 from 7- 8 p.m. at the Milton Community Hall. Free for Miltonvale Park residents aged 55+ and $10 for the series for others. Space is limited. Pre-register at admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090.


The hall is holding a community yard sale on Saturday June 11. Contact the hall to book a table ($15 for a 6 ft table). 902-566-3154.


The PEI Mutual Festival of Small Halls returns to the Milton Community Hall on Saturday evening, June 18 with its show – A Milton Mixer. Tickets are $30. It’s Juno award-winners on stage in Milton with the commanding vocals of Dene singer/songwriter Leela Gilday, joined by brother Jay Gilday, together as ‘Sechile Sedare’, along with the toe-tapping trad of string quartet The Fretless. Whimsical Kent-born folk singer/songwriter Lucy Farrell joins as special guest. Get more information and buy your tickets here. Reminder that April 1 was the beginning of a new fiscal year – so residents can apply again for a child bursary if you are registering your children in spring or summer programs or activities, and rebates are still available for High efficiency washers, low flow toilets and showerheads. https://miltonvalepark.com/for-residents/rebates-forms/


The Biciborne (Bicycle Repair Station) is located adjacent to the Confederation Trail off the North York River Road, near the parking lot – and has lots of tools and a pump if you need to get your bicycle ready for the season!

Jubilee Teas -The Milton Community Hall received funding from Heritage Canada and is planning to hold three Platinum Jubilee Teas on Monday evening, July 25, Sunday, August & and Saturday, September 17.  We are still working on details – but if you are a royal fan, and would like to be involved with a display, photos or information you may have acquired to help us celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne, please contact miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com.

Covid rapid test kits that can be taken home are now available at the Milton Community Hall, as are some KN95 masks. These are available through a Red Cross Stop the Spread program.  There are also some supplies in the food cupboard that folks are welcome to take and lots of books and puzzles to borrow in the hall entry.

Thanks to all who supported the Hall’s annual lobster supper last weekend – and to all the great volunteers who helped get everything ready for the 265 suppers that were served.
