Miltonvale Park has a new rebate for spring 2022. The Cornwall and Area Watershed Group Inc is selling rain barrels, accessories and rolling composters. Order and pay online at RainBarrel.ca/CAWGPEI before May 23, 2022.
Miltonvale Park residents can also order at the Council Office at the Milton Community Hall (or online) AND are eligible for a $25 rebate on a rain barrel from the municipality (One per property/household). https://miltonvalepark.com/rain-barrel-rebate/ Pick up is scheduled for the Terry Fox Sports Complex, in Cornwall PEI on Sunday June 5 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. BUT pick up at the Milton Hall may be possible.
There is still space at the Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter Egg) Decorating Workshop, Saturday, April 9 from 2:30 (for 2-2.5 hours) at the Milton Community Hall with instructor Linda Weeks Cost -$5 for Miltonvale Park residents (Non-residents $10 - if space permits). Limited spaces available, and preference for registration will go to Miltonvale Park residents, especially those aged 55+. Register at 902-368-3090 or admin@miltonvalepark.com
The Council Office is closed Monday -Wednesday, April 4-6 while the CAO is out of the province. Sorry for any inconvenience. The new Development Officer, Mirko Terrazas intends to have regular Wednesday office hours from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. beginning on April 13, 2022. The Milton Community Hall is hosting a presentation with John Horne from ALL EV about “Which EV is Right for Me?” Learn about Electric Vehicles at the Milton Community Hall on Thursday, April 14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Pre-register at miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com or 902-566-3154. A Seniors Sock Hop will be held on Monday, April 18 from 2-4 p.m. at the Milton Community Hall. Admission is by donation, but space is limited. Priority for registration will be for Miltonvale Park residents. Masks required. Pre-register at admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090. Come and enjoy the music of the 50s & 60s. Year of Canada - Foods Across Canada – Join Home Economist Margaret Prouse for a series of food presentations, beginning with MANITOBA on Thursday, April 21 at 1 p.m. at the Milton Community Hall. Space is limited. Please pre-register at 902-368-3090 or admin@miltonvalepark.com by noon Tuesday, April 19. Masks required. Admission by donation. Preference for seats will be to Miltonvale Park residents.
Dr. Michael van den Heuvel from UPEI will be doing a presentation on Coles Creek, and the effects on water levels and fish habitat that he has been studying over the past few years (since the Charlottetown wellfield was established) at a meeting via Zoom and at the Milton Community Hall on Wednesday evening, May 11. The Milton Community Hall will be holding its annual Takeout Lobster Dinner on Saturday afternoon, May 14. Tickets are $25 and must be prepaid. The hall takes e-transfers to miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com.
The PEI Mutual Festival of Small Halls returns to the Milton Community Hall on Saturday evening, June 18 with its show - A Milton Mixer. Tickets are $30. It’s Juno award-winners on stage in Milton with the commanding vocals of Dene singer/songwriter Leela Gilday, joined by brother Jay Gilday, together as ‘Sechile Sedare’, along with the toe-tapping trad of string quartet The Fretless. Seniors fitness classes ($5) are held Mondays and Fridays at 9 a.m. followed by Coffee at 10 a.m. Mat yoga ($5) takes place at the Milton Hall on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. Chair yoga ($5) is held on Tuesdays at 10:30 and Thursday at 9 a.m.
