MEALS & SPIELS -January 18 & Feb. 11

The Milton Community Hall received funding from the PEI Seniors Secretariat to host six Meals & Spiels – with Dutch Thompson speaking at the first one in December.

The project involves volunteers coming together at the Milton Community Hall to cook a lunch, and then eat/listen to a speaker and then the leftovers (if there are any!) are packaged and distributed to local seniors.

People are asked to RSVP at least two days before each event to miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com or 902-566-3154. These events are free, but there will be a donation dish available to help offset costs. The events are directed towards seniors, but others are welcome.

Friday, January 18 – Nursing in the North – with Joyce England. Options are to arrive at 10-10:30 to help prepare the food or to arrive for the 12 noon meal and talk. Storm date Monday, January 21.

Monday, February 11 – Family Violence Prevention Week – In combination with the municipality’s annual Blanket Making for Anderson House (10 a.m.), and the theme of engaging men and boys, the men on the hall committee are cooking lunch for the blanket makers and those who come to hear a speaker who will talk about some aspect of Family Violence Prevention (12 noon).  RSVP by Feb 8th. Storm date, Feb 12.

We are still arranging other Meals & Spiels and hope to feature a pharmacist at one of the events.
