New Year's Update -Soup Supper, Sask. Recipes, Fitness classes...

Best wishes for a happy holiday season!

The Council office is closed for the holidays until Tuesday, January 3rd. If you need to get in touch, please reach out by email to admin@miltonvalepark.com as the phones may not be monitored regularly. The hall still has lots of Covid Rapid Test Kits, if anyone is in need. It doesn't look like anyone will be needing to borrow snowshoes before the office is open again, according to the weather forecast.

Coffee Club will resume on Friday, January 6.  The next Yoga classes will be on Tuesday, January 3rd – Mat at 9:00 a.m. and Chair Yoga at 10:30 $6 for Miltonvale Park residents and $7 for non-residents.

Exercise classes return on Monday, January 9 at 9 a.m. and if you are making a New Year’s resolution to get more active – there is space available in both yoga and exercise classes -and remember that all Miltonvale Park residents can try one yoga class for free. Line Dancing classes are scheduled for Mondays, but are full.

There are many events being planned for the new year -and we have a 10(ish!) minute survey looking for thoughts or suggestions for some of the activities. You can access the survey here:

Thanks to all those who helped with the Milton Community Hall during the recent community turkey supper. We appreciated all the help getting the meals out 24 hours early due to the storm that was expected. The next Community Meal will take place on Thursday, January 5 and will be turkey vegetable soup, with an alternate choice of squash soup. Take-out suppers will be available from 5-5:45 p.m. while people will be able to eat-in at 6:00 p.m. Delivery can be available within Miltonvale Park, if necessary. There are 125 free meals available and preference will be given to Miltonvale Park residents. Please register and you can also sign up to help out there as well. For more information, contact the hall at 902-566-3154 or miltoncommunityhall@gmail.com
These meals are funded by the Island Community Food Security Initiative, which also just provided the Milton Community Hall with additional funding so they can distribute food boxes over the winter.

Margaret Prouse is sharing recipes from Saskatchewan – (wheat/baked goods/ wheat berries) on Wednesday, January 11 at 1 p.m. Please send an email if you would like to attend to admin@miltonvalepark.com. This is part of the Year of Canada project, funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.

The municipality is organizing a sign painting event on the afternoon of Thursday, January 12 (from 2-4) with Red Island Handcrafted. Watch for details and the choices of signs to be painted.

Happy New Year!
