WEEKLY EVENTS

Monday and Friday Active Aging Fitness with KK – 9 – 10 a.m. at the Milton Community Hall, $6 (Drop-in). No classes from Dec. 23-January 3, inclusive.

Coffee Club – Mondays and Fridays at 10 a.m. Drop in to the Milton Community Hall for coffee, tea, snacks and conversation. Admission by donation of coin or treats! Everyone welcome.

Mindfulness on the Mat - Yoga on the Mat with Leone –Tuesdays and Fridays 8:45 and Yoga on the Chair 10:15; $6 for Miltonvale Park residents, $7 for others (Drop-in) on Tuesdays. NEW pricing for Friday classes, as they are no longer hosted by Miltonvale Park. Six classes for $63 which includes access to online classes and videos. NEW DATE – STARTS FRIDAY! Join Lily Forsythe from Healing Point for group acupuncture sessions for stress relief and relaxation on the 2nd floor of the Milton Community Hall on Fridays at 11:45 a.m. beginning on December 6. This series of eight group sessions has received funding from the PEI Seniors Secretariat. Spaces are limited and the sessions are free for Miltonvale Park residents aged 55+, and by donation for others, if space permits. Sunday, Dec 8 at 6:30 - Movie Night – Elf - Raised as an oversized elf, Buddy travels from the North Pole to New York City to meet his biological father, Walter Hobbs, who doesn't know he exists and is in desperate need of some Christmas spirit. Free for Miltonvale Park residents, by donation for others.

Monday, December 9, at 7:30 p.m. The North Milton WI is gathering for their Christmas meeting at Miriam Hooper’s (521 Rustico Road). Interested women are invited to attend. For more information, contact Miriam at mirhooper@gmail.com.

Wednesday, December 11 at 7 p.m. Active Transportation Plan – Come learn about recommendations in the Miltonvale Park Active Transportation Plan and give your input. The plan is ambitious, so the municipality will need to choose what can be done. Check out the draft plan online.

NEW - Saturday, Dec. 14 10:30 a.m. *The Art of Drag – Join drag queens, including Miz Majestix, Sage, and Lady Fefe Fierce for a panel session, workshops, lunch and some fun. Curious about drag, or performing? Come learn about the art of drag, and performing. Free for Miltonvale Park residents, donations gratefully accepted for others, if desired. NEW TIME- Saturday, Dec. 14 –*Story Time - at 2:15 p.m. The Rural Municipality of Miltonvale Park invites families, caregivers, and youth to a Drag Queen Storytime with Lady Fefe Fierce at the Milton Community Hall. Drag queens reading stories to children captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives youth positive stories which promote diversity and inclusion. Our goal is to promote literacy and freedom of expression. Please RSVP to admin@miltonvalepark.com or 902-368-3090 with the number of people and age of children who are attending so we can tailor the books to the children. Free.

NEW – Saturday, December 14 at 3 p.m. North River Fire Department Santa Tour. Bring your “littles” to the Milton Community Hall to see the firefighters, fire trucks, and Santa and the Grinch, and to have some hot chocolate and cookies. (If you can’t make the 3 p.m. stop at the Milton Hall – the other stops on the Santa Tour are 2 p.m. -Burnside Community Care, Clyde River; 2:30 – Brackley Commons, 3:30 – Clow’s Store, 4 p.m. -Gass’ General Store; 4:30 – Bonshaw Post Office; 5 p.m. Afton Community Centre, 6:30 – Cornwall Parade and 7 p.m. 1592 Warren Grove Road.)

The Miltonvale Community Park is no longer staffed, and the washroom has been closed for the winter. If you are there and you feel it needs attention, please contact the Council office at 902-368-3090 or if the office is not open, call or text 902-213-0597.

Child Bursary -If parents/caregivers have registered your children who live in Miltonvale Park for extracurricular sports/arts/cultural classes or lessons, they could be eligible for a $75 rebate per child per year (April 1 -March 31). https://miltonvalepark.com/.../bursary-application2024.pdf

For Miltonvale Park residents, if money or transportation is a barrier to any of the Milton Community Hall MVP (Most Valuable People) events, please let us know and we will do what we can to ensure that everyone can participate.
